Person On Tracks May Have Touched Third Rail In DC: MTA Police (Developing)

An investigation has been launched after a person may have died after touching the third rail outside a Metro station in Washington, DC.

Metro Transit Police said that officers and DC Fire and EMS personnel were called to the Judiciary Square Metro Station early on Monday, April 3, to investigate an unauthorized person on the tracks that potentially made contact with the third rail.

As of 10 a.m. on Monday morning, police say that there were no signs of life.

The investigation forced the MTA to temporarily suspect service between Gallery Place and NoMa-Gallaudet U stations, though shuttle buses will be made available.

No additional information was provided by the police as the investigation continues.
